YMCA Youth and Family Events in November
Saturday November 3rd: Calvary Baptist Coat Give-Away—Calvary Baptist helps us keep the “C” in YMCA and this Sunday they are doing a free coat drive to help clothe the poor.
Tuesday November 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th: Kidz Connection—Volunteers from Calvary Baptist church have an hour and half of fun play time for kids in the gym that involves faith based games and activities designed to engage and stimulate children (parents welcome!) Cost: Free and open to the public.
Friday November 9th: Family Night for YMCA Members; Play time in the auditorium- Join us from 6PM—8PM in the auditorium as we set up moonbounces and our 25 player Dance Dance Revolution system that is fun for the whole family. Games and Music will also be provided. Cost: Free for members, non members $3 per child and free for adults, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Food will be available for purchase.
Wednesday November 14th: Apple Farms presents “World of Percussion Workshop” with Mr. Josh Totora— 5:30 PM—7:30 PM Auditorium. Come and sample a variety of world instruments and rhythms and explore how our bodies, minds, and voices respond to these lively beats. In each session, you and your family will hear and play traditional grooves from Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and even some Latin cultures. Discover how anyone can find the rhythm within just by getting in the groove with percussion!' Cost: Free to the first 40 YMCA members that register at the front desk. EVENT FOR YMCA MEMBERS ONLY.
Wednesday November 14th— Toastmaster International— 7PM—9 PM Social Room— Come to a Toastmasters meeting to learn more effective ways to speak publicly. This internationally recognized organization has helped millions of people overcome their fear of public speaking and helped turned good speakers into great speakers. Meetings are fun and inviting and participants only have to speak if they are comfortable doing so. Great event for parents and Middle School to High School students to attend together. Cost: Free and open to the Pubic.
Friday November 16th—Family Night For YMCA Members: Movie Night: Madagascar 3—Join us from 6PM—8PM in the auditorium for a fun night at the movies for a fraction of the cost. Cost: Free for members, non members $3 per child and free for adults, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Food will be available for purchase.
Friday November 23rd—Middle School Dance—Get those middle school age children out of the house at a supervised dance in our Auditorium from 7:00 PM—10:30 PM. Cost: $5 per child for YMCA and SACC program members, $7 per child for non members. Food will be available for purchase.
Wednesday November 28th— Apple Farms Presents: “Your Story “with Ms. Kerri Sullivan 5:30 PM— 7:30 PM in the Auditorium. Boost your creative output and capture your thoughts! Have fun learning and playing new games that will help you put pen to paper. Enjoy a sampling of engaging story starters and then create a journal that speaks volumes about who YOU are! You have a lot to say-come learn how to tell YOUR story!' COST: Free to the first 40 YMCA members that register at the front desk. EVENT FOR YMCA MEMBERS ONLY.
Friday November 30th—Family Fun Night for YMCA Members. The pool will be open for families only from 6PM—8 PM. Join Aquatics director Mark Matthews for a night of fun and games in the pool. Cost: Free for members, non members $3 per child and free for adults, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
