Healthy Food Initiative Holds First Community Meeting in December
The event is Thursday December 6th at the YMCA and focuses on Carneys Point and Penns Grove

Point, November 9, 2012: A group of
concerned organizations and private citizens has formed a new group called “The
Healthy Food Initiative” and will be presenting a draft plan on how to help
communities in Salem County improve their health through better nutrition. The
draft plan will be presented on Thursday December 6th from 9AM –
10AM at the YMCA of Salem County and a free continental breakfast will be
provided by Lapps Dutch Market. The purpose of the meeting is to present the
draft plan, get suggestions and input from community members, and to also find
new volunteers interested in helping.
So
far, members of the group include representatives from the YMCA, The Salem
Health and Wellness Foundation, and One Village Alliance. Several private
citizens are also involved, including Dan Lapp of Lapps Markets. To reserve a
